  After Armageddon Diary (Many JWs just haven't "thought it through"!!)

  i guess were still in a state of shock.

  it seems that there are a lot of us that feel that we had a lot more freedom before armageddon.

  world society is not my idea of a paradise at all, and i really think i would rather be dead then to live like this.

  The new show on NBC called Revolution reminds me a lot of what it would be like if JW were right. Not a world I would want to live in.

  my 97 year old grandmother died last week.

  she was actually born and raised a jw.

  her mother (my great grandmother) was a russelite.

  I am sorry for your loss and am glad she died happy with what she did with her life. At her age to think that it was not the truth would have been horrible, it is good that she died not knowing ttatt.

  New JW.org video - using the simplified Watchtower to "teach" children

  well, now that the new jw.org website is up and running, the videos keep coming thick and fast.. this latest highly-polished production shows an asian family, evidently living in america (or some other developed country), explaining how the watchtower in simplified english benefits them.. here is the link.... http://www.jw.org/en/news/by-region/world/video-clip-helping-children/.

  the first thing that struck me was the boys playing football together at the beginning.

  To me it was a total take off of the Mormon commercial's that were playing in my area last spring. WOW is all I can say. It also reminded me of Rockcenter's interview of the Mormon's a couple of week ago.

  At what age do people 'wake up'?

  i was thinking about this question recently after being at the meeting when new pioneers were announced for the 2013 service year.. we have a dozen or so pioneers in the congregation, and most are in their 20's.

  some absolutely love the things they are taught and can't wait to spread the good news.. others in the congregation are going through the motions, tired of hearing the same old same old but have no way to change things now.

  then there are a couple like me.

  I was 44. It took a child molester moving into the hall to have it finally hit me in the head that this could in no way be the "truth".

  Looking back I can now see that I always had some doubts even in my teens but I shelved them, I was a lot like Blondie said that I just kept getting slapped down and kept going back for more slapping thinking it was my fault.

  The pedophile moving in finally made me realized that it was not me but a horribly flawed and screwed up religion that was causing my problems.

  Brothers playing sports are so aggressive.

  this summer i started to play football(soccer) with "wordly" people.

  it s been so nice and relaxing without flashovers.. contrast for playing with witnesses is huge!

  here is couple examples of witnesses games from where i live:.

  I knew of one brother who lost his eye sight in one eye because some brother hit him so hard playing baseball. Another bother hurt his leg and was out of work for over three months though he was a strange guy, became an elder after he was baptized for hardly a year as he was a real kiss butt kind of guy, everyone was there at the hospital when he went to the ER after he got hurt playing basketball yet my husband had a heart attack while conducting the school and no one came up to be with me. OH the love of the brothers and sisters. By their love you will know that you have the "truth".

  Update & Moving on with life

  hello all, just wanted to update you all on my further steps in the exiting process (a process that may never end in some respects).

  to set up a context for my update: my story in a nutshel-.

  did a quick fade in the fall of 2009 to start going to university and escape a very unhappy living situation.

  The generation that saw the end of the Vietnam War will never die!

  so what will be the new light on having such a young gb member?

  will it be that obviously jesus clearly meant that evidently, plainly, unmistakably and with out a doubt (matt 24:34) that this generation that overlapped with the generation that saw ww1 and would overlap with the generation that saw ww2 which would than clearly overlap with the ones who saw the end of the vietnam war will never die.. this new gb is younger then i am and i just barley remember the end of the vietnam war.. how do the older ones keep believing this?

  how can someone who is in their 60's to 80's swallow this?
